Clay's Climate Control, a New Jersey-based HVAC services company, was acquired by Ace Hardware in August. Company co-founders Clay and Jen Pierce expressed the company's eagerness to grow under its new parent company.

“Clay’s Climate Control is now an Ace Hardware Company! Ace Hardware acquired Clay’s, the HVAC service experts of South Jersey, creating a new opportunity to redefine Helpful service in the heating and cooling business,” according to the company website. “Much like Clay’s, Ace Hardware is dedicated to delivering an amazing experience to every customer, every time. Ace Hardware stores are locally owned and operated, with the goal to be helpful in the aisle and now in the home. We are excited to grow Clay’s together with Ace to continue to support the local community for years to come.”

Clay's Climate Control is an HVAC company that offers installation and maintenance services to customers in Linwood, New Jersey, and the surrounding areas. Founded in 2001 by Jen and Clay Pierce, the company recently expanded its offerings to include services such as generator installations and dryer duct cleaning. The company also does heating repair and installation.

“We are committed to treating our customers with the highest respect and understanding,” Clay said in a message on the company's website. “Once the decision is made to work with our company, you can rest assured that we will work our hardest to remain your heating and air conditioning contractor for life.”

Jen Pierce spoke of the company's early history in an interview with the South Jersey Sun. She said that in the beginning, Clay handled service, installation, and estimating work, while she managed administrative tasks and worked part-time as a pharmaceutical sales representative. The company has grown significantly since its inception, evolving from a single truck operation to a fully-fledged fleet.

“Looking back on the past years, my wife, Jennifer, and I cannot believe how much Clay’s Climate Control has changed,” Clay wrote on the company website.

“We’re proud to join the Helpful team at Ace! Clay’s Climate Control is now an Ace Hardware Company,” the company wrote in a Facebook post on Aug. 10. "Together, we will continue to deliver the exceptional service you expect with the resources of the Helpful brand you trust.”

Committed to their local community, Clay's Climate Control engages in various charitable initiatives, according to Jen. The company's philanthropic efforts can be found in the "Clay's Cares" section of its website, listing donations to organizations such as South Jersey Field of Dreams, Spread the Love Foundation, and The Hansen Foundation, Inc. For National First Responders Day, the company provided a local first responder with a free furnace and installation in October. Jen said the company supports Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children, an organization dedicated to advocating for the well-being of children removed from abusive or neglectful homes.
