Cape May County ranked 16th in New Jersey for resident earnings in 2019

Cape May County ranked 16th among counties in New Jersey by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Cape May County residents was $32,777 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 40,171 households with a population of 93,086.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Hunterdon County with $51,782 per year after adjusting for inflation – $19,005 more than Cape May County. It had 47,175 households with a population of 124,823.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Cumberland County with $24,786 per year after adjusting for inflation – $7,991 less than Cape May County. It had 50,729 households with a population of 151,906.
