Cost of college went up for all students at Cumberland County College

In-state tuition and fees rose 1.3 percent for 2018-19 at Cumberland County College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New Jersey residents paid $4,800 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $60 more than the $4,740 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 81.2 percent more than residents this year, or $8,700. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 1.4 percent from $8,580 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are New Jersey residents.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 518 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3 million and 87 students took out student loans totaling more than $437,898.

Including all undergraduates (2,934), 1,938 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.1 million, and 476 students took out $2.6 million in federal student loans.
